Court Ordered Impounds

Please keep in mind the following information related to DUI convictions in Florida:  Definition of impoundment: "Impoundment," "impounding," or "impound" refers to storing a vehicle at a storage facility under an order of impoundment, where the entity impounding the vehicle has control, supervision, and responsibility over it. 

•  For the first DUI conviction, the Court may order the impoundment of the vehicle that was operated by or under the actual control of the Defendant, or any vehicle registered in the Defendant’s name at the time of impoundment, for 10 days.  
• For the second DUI conviction, the Court may order the impoundment of all vehicles owned by the Defendant at the time of impoundment for 30 days.  
• For the third DUI conviction, the Court may order the impoundment of all vehicles owned by the Defendant at the time of impoundment for 90 days.

The storage fees are $29.68 per day, per vehicle, with an admin fee of $89.39 for certified letters to be sent to all interested parties. If your tag is being surrendered in place of your vehicle, the admin fee is waived
